It is just like a fish.
The bigger it grows, the more it needs a much larger pond. The bigger people's
capacity and competence, the more challenges they need. I am currently in high
need of achievement. I feel like the current pond does not suit my growth.
Once I complained about
the situation until a friend of mine softly reminded me that there was no
better option than creating my own pond. Suddenly I nodded my head and figured
out that her comment was all logical.
Creating my own pond is
a proving statement that I have competence. Meanwhile, relying on others to
provide me with the bigger pond legitimates my weakness and denies my capacity.
When it comes to
building my own pond, there should be real programs that I need to carry out.
These programs will eventually justify my big capacity. I know that I can do
that. But I need to prove if I want to earn people's acknowledgement. ea
Well, I got to focus on
several areas of programs. First is building a literacy community. The output
of this program is publishing books collectively. It can be in the collective
works of students and teachers separately. It should be a sustainable school
program from then on. In turn, the school has to run its own publishing house.
Publishing the works of students and teachers should be done sustainably and
regularly.
The second program is an
online seminar on debating technicality using the Australasian parliamentary
system. This program is attended by students representing senior high schools
across Pekalongan Regency. We need to obtain MKKS's approval for the program.
The third program is
that I publish several books. Every beginning is determining. I can begin by
writing a book about practical ideas to create meaningful education at school.
Then, I will write a book about ideas to campaign for literacy at schools.
Next, I will write a practical guide to do classroom research. Then, I will
write a practical guide to conduct flipped classrooms to address several
critical issues on students' learning like students' engagement, students from
low resource communities, student-centred learning and the HOTS-based learning
process. Then, I will write a book about ideas on how to conduct HOTS-based
learning in the classroom. The last one is writing a book about how to conduct
HOTS-based learning in an EFL classroom setting. I found a community of
learners. We conduct online discussions regularly.
